There’s plenty to do and see near to St Margaret’s Cottage!

The holiday cottage itself is situated in a quiet and secluded setting on the outskirts of the conservation village of Coldingham, and is only one mile away and a pleasant stroll from the beautiful sandy beaches of Coldingham Bay. There’s plenty of stunning walks in the local area for both novices and experienced hikers.

Only 1.4 miles from St Margaret’s Cottage is the famous nature reserve of St Abb’s, which is renowned for both its bird life and its dramatic cliff top scenery.

Just over a 300 yard stroll from St Margaret’s Cottage takes you directly into the village of Coldingham. There are pubs serving bar food and a village store.

The nearby historic fishing town of Eyemouth has good range of shops, including a small supermarket. Fresh seafood can be bought, including lobsters when in season in season. There is a large supermarket ten miles away in Berwick-on-Tweed.

The picturesque Border scenery and its small towns are close by  St Margaret’s Cottage, as is the River Tweed with its world famous salmon fishing. Trout fishing is available just up the road at Coldingham Loch. The famous attractions in Edinburgh are only one hour away by car. It offers all you could wish for in restaurants, museums, art galleries, the magnificent Castle and shopping

There are a number of golf courses nearby including Eyemouth, or Haddington Golf Club which is situated by the River Tyne. The dramatic Bamburgh Castle is less than an hour’s drive away and can easily be combined with a trip to Holy Island or the Farne Islands, owned by the National Trust and one of Britain’s most important seabird sanctuaries.

For a classic seaside outing, the town of Dunbar is only 30 minutes away and features all the fun of a seaside resort, combined with historic buildings, spectacular landscapes and dramatic coastlines.
